Terms of Service.

Bookings and deposits

Submitting the contact form with a requested date charges a refundable deposit via Stripe — 5% of the listed package price, or a flat $25 for anything without a listed price (weddings, custom events, and similar). This deposit holds your date and confirms your enquiry.

If the booking goes ahead, the deposit is credited toward the total project price, and the remaining balance is charged separately once details are confirmed. If we're not able to move forward with the booking (for example, the date turns out not to work), the deposit is refunded in full.

Cancellations and rescheduling

If you cancel a confirmed booking, the deposit is forfeited — it doesn't carry forward or get refunded. If you need to move your date instead, we'll do our best to find a new one that works; rescheduling itself carries no extra fee, and your deposit carries over to the new date, subject to availability.

If we ever have to cancel or reschedule on our end (illness, an emergency, weather that makes a shoot genuinely unsafe or unworkable, and similar), your deposit is fully refunded or carried forward to a new date — whichever you'd prefer.

Individual project contracts

Some projects come with their own signed contract covering the specifics of that shoot — deliverables, timeline, usage rights, and so on. Where a signed contract exists, it governs anything it specifically addresses; these Terms of Service fill in everything else and apply to every booking regardless.

Private galleries and photo selection

Once your shoot is edited (or your proofs are ready for selection), you'll get a private, code-locked gallery link. Where a selection step applies, you choose which photos move forward for final editing — including, if you'd like, using the "Let AI choose the best ones" tool, which pre-selects based on technical quality (sharpness, exposure, open eyes) only. Nothing is finalized until you review and submit your own selections; the AI's picks are a starting point, not a final decision.

Galleries and the files in them are automatically and permanently deleted 30 days after you're invited to select, or 30 days after delivery — whichever applies — unless archived sooner at our discretion. Download what you want to keep before then.

Image usage and licensing

Buj Media & Productions retains copyright over all photos and video we shoot. Delivered images are licensed to you for personal and professional use — competition submissions, your own social media, print, and similar — but they aren't yours to resell or relicense to a third party.

We may use any shoot in our own portfolio, website, social media, and marketing, unless you tell us in writing beforehand that a shoot is private. Let us know before or at the time of booking if that applies to you.

Liability

We carry the coverage and take the care you'd expect from a working photography and video business, but we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example, a missed competition placing you attribute to a delivery timeline. Our total liability for any booking is capped at the amount you actually paid us for it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the business evolves; the date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continuing to book or use the site after a change means you accept the update.
